SLO Classical Academy is proud to host William Deresiewicz, an award-winning essayist and critic, a frequent college speaker, and the best-selling author of Excellent Sheep: The Miseducation of the American Elite and the Way to a Meaningful Life on Thursday, March 7. Former Yale professor, Deresiewicz saw that far too many young people are going into the same professions, as the current education system is spawning a generation of “Excellent Sheep.” At this book signing event, Deresiewicz will share his social critique on how the current education system failed to produce scholars, but instead churns out corporate managers and conformists.
Following his talk, William Deresiewicz will be signing books. Baked goods will be available for purchase with all proceeds supporting SLO Classical academy. Join SLOCA at the Harold J Miossi Cultural and Performing Art Center at Cuesta College campus for Deresiewicz’s arguments.
