Woods Humane Society is excited to announce it is holding a groundbreaking ceremony for its new high quality/high volume spay & neuter clinic at the Woods-North County adoption center site. Woods-North County is located at 2300 Ramona Road in Atascadero.

The Woods North County Spay & Neuter Clinic will enable Woods Humane Society to meet the pressing needs of dogs and cats in northern San Luis Obispo County. Upon completion, the new clinic will include a fully functional spay and neuter surgery suite that can accommodate up to 20 or more surgeries per day.  Additionally, the new clinic will alleviate surgery space at Woods’ San Luis Obispo surgery center, thus increasing Woods Humane Society’s ability to offer more public spay/neuter appointments for dogs and cats in southern San Luis Obispo County thanks to this additional capacity.

“We are thrilled to be on our way to opening SLO County’s first public high volume, high quality spay/neuter clinic. Ensuring that spay/neuter services are both accessible and affordable, is a critical component to creating a humane community. This new clinic will positively impact thousands of animals and the residents who care for them for years to come” said Jill Tucker, Executive Director.

We are honored to dedicate the Woods Humane Society – North County Spay & Neuter Clinic in memory of Daphne Fahsing.

Join us on Wednesday, May 9th at 9:30 a.m. at Woods-North County (2300 Ramona Road, Atascadero).

Jill Tucker, Executive Director of Woods Humane Society, Dr. Leslie Sklena, Woods’ Director of Veterinary Services, and Dr. Eric Anderson, Director of SLO County Animal Services will be speaking during the ceremony. Speakers will address the importance of offering these services to the community, explain the standard of care in high volume, high quality spay/neuter services, and provide insight into the organization’s long-term plans for the expansion of services for the North County community.
