Inc. magazine’s list of the fastest-growing companies in America, Inc. 5000, has been released and once again it’s populated with numerous San Luis Obispo County businesses.

Settling in comfortably at 551, San Luis Obispo-based Land Gorilla took home the top spot for local companies for the second year in a row. It was followed by Cloacina, an Arroyo Grande manufacturing company making its debut on the list at 580, and AM Sun Solar (728) made the list for the second time.

SLO Chamber member, Grapevine MSP Technology Services, a Bakersfield-based IT provider, made their debut at 1,408.

For the sixth year in a row, Meathead Movers made the cut, this year at 3,346, IQMS (4,044) accepted the honor for the seventh consecutive year and Morris & Garritano Insurance made their first appearance on the list at 4,243.

The list, released annually by Inc. magazine, is a ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the US, based on three-year growth.

  • Experiencing 821 percent three-year growth, Land Gorilla, a software company that facilitates construction lending, previously made the list at 230 in 2016.
  • Founded in 2008 and making their first appearance on the list, Cloacina, a manufacturer and purveyor of package wastewater treatment plants and equipment, nabbed the #3 spot of all Environmental Service Companies that made the list.
  • Atascadero-based AM Sun Solar experienced 628 percent growth over the past three years and made their second appearance on the list in the 700’s.
  • Bakersfield’s Grapevine MSP Technology Services saw 289 percent growth including a growing portfolio of companies in San Luis Obispo County.

  • Paso Robles based IQMS made the list for the seventh consecutive year and continues to produce industry leading manufacturing software. Launched in 1989, IQMS saw a 69 percent three-year growth. They are also the largest employer from SLO County to make the list with 312 employees.
  • Charter SLO Chamber member Morris & Garritano Insurance experienced 62.25 percent growth over the past three years vaulting the 132-year-old company onto the Inc. 5000 for the first time.
