Betsy Kinsley, who has served as chief of staff to Cal Poly President Jeff Armstrong since moving to the region in July 2011, is leaving Cal Poly to lead fund development, foundation board and external relations at Incline Village Community Hospital at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. During her time with Cal Poly Kinsley, who has provided important management to public affairs and community relations, has earned the trust of city and county leadership as well as many in the business community. She has been an emissary in the administration’s efforts to be part of the community, and has assisted with strengthening relationships between students and residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Cal Poly. Her significant community involvements includes serving on the board of directors of the SLO Chamber, the Performing Arts Center, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center and the International Town Gown Association. In addition, she is a Leadership SLO Class XXI alum, a member of the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and the Los Ranchos Elementary School PTA. Kinsley’s husband has roots in the Tahoe basin and was born at Incline Village Community Hospital. Her last day will be October 1. Work to define the search process for her replacement will begin soon.
