Local Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham has been endorsed by the California Small Business Association. According to its website, “the California Small Business Association is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit, non-partisan organization that makes its mission to provide small business with a meaningful voice in state and federal governments.”

“You have demonstrated your commitment and leadership to serving the small business community in your district and in this great state of California,” said CSBA President, Betty Jo Toccoli in the group’s endorsement.

Cunningham has represented the 35th Assembly District since 2016. Before serving as an Assemblymember, Cunningham served on the Board of the Templeton Unified School District, and before that worked as a prosecutor in the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office.

Cunningham was recognized for the work he has done to make small business liaisons in state agencies more effective. In 2017, Assemblyman Cunningham introduced legislation that would ensure all state agencies host a small business liaison that advocates for employers and holds bureaucracies accountable. This bill was signed into law later that year.

He and his wife, Shauna, currently run their own private law practice, the Cunningham Law Group, in San Luis Obispo County where they live with their four children.

Assemblyman Cunningham represents all of San Luis Obispo County and a portion of Santa Barbara County, including the cities of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Paso Robles, Grover Beach, Lompoc, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Templeton, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and surrounding communities.
