The California Travel Association, the leading California travel, tourism and hospitality industry association, in celebration of their 31st Annual Travel Summit, revealed a roster of young professionals recognized for their leadership emerging within the travel and tourism industry. Visit San Luis Obispo County’s Lauren Tognazzini, administrative assistant and film commission liaison, was honored among statewide nominees recognized for their accomplishments and career outlook in tourism marketing.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, Lauren Tognazzini recognized her desire to market and promote the beautiful place she calls home while helping coordinate a food and wine festival as part of her senior thesis at California Polytechnic State University. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, she began working as an event coordinator for Sunset SAVOR the Central Coast presented in partnership by Visit San Luis Obispo County and Sunset Magazine. Tognazzini knew she had found her niche.
“Lauren’s energy and can-do style is contagious at Visit San Luis Obispo County,” said Stacie Jacob, executive director of Visit San Luis Obispo County. “She has her finger on the pulse of the guest needs and opportunities to keep the region on the forefront of tourism marketing trends.”
Tognazzini now has the opportunity to share her passion for the region with visitors each day in her role at Visit San Luis Obispo County. She is currently working on expanding the reach of the San Luis Obispo County Film Commission and looks forward to the many great opportunities to come.
Tognazzini, along with other award winners, were recognized at CalTravel’s 31st Travel Summit held March 18-20 in San Diego. This event attracts travel and tourism professionals from around the state and has gained industry-wide recognition as one of the State of California’s most significant opportunities for travel and tourism professionals to share and improve individual knowledge, refine business relationships and add a voice to ongoing political discussions.
