Time is ticking on the closure of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant and its ripple effects through the local economy.

That’s what’s spurred local business and civic leaders to launch a new group — The Hourglass Project — with the goal of creating additional jobs and economic opportunity across the region, from Vandenberg AFB to Camp Roberts.

The SLO Chamber joins this historic partnership bringing 13 area chambers together under the new banner of the Central Coast Coalition of Chambers, which will work with government, business and education leaders on invigorating the regional economy.

But don’t just take our word for it — check out media coverage of the Hourglass Project launch on Nov. 26, with perspective and insight on the effort.
