Citizens of San Luis Obispo County can now see what their county government accomplished last year in one easy-to-read format.
The County of San Luis Obispo published its 2014 Annual Report online this week, complete with colorful infographics, written narrative and short videos.
“The 2014 Annual Report can help the public understand the impact County services, programs and projects had on the community last year,” said County Administrative Officer Dan Buckshi. “We faced some significant challenges in 2014, some of which will continue to affect us into the future, but we also made significant strides and accomplished a lot for the community we serve.”
This year’s report tells a story that focuses on results, highlighting the County’s most significant accomplishments and difficult challenges in a format that’s easy to understand and easy to share. The public can either take a quick glance at how each County department impacted the community by viewing the colorful infographics, or they can delve deeper into details by reading written narratives or watching videos with more focused stories.
The County has produced an online annual report since 2010 in an effort to enhance communication with the public. Based on feedback from the public and current trends in online communication, the County has continued to publish the annual report online in a website format each year.
Members of the public are encouraged to review the 2014 Annual Report. Anyone wishing to provide feedback can do so anonymously via an online survey that can be accessed in the footer of the website.
