Dave Garth, former SLO Chamber CEO of nearly 40 years, was honored with an Impact Award at the Chamber’s 118th Annual Dinner for his dedication to the organization.
Dave Garth molded the SLO Chamber to be what it is today. He spent parts of five different decades at the helm of the SLO Chamber, steering the organization into modern times. Dave created structures, systems and policies that brought us to where we are today and shaped the Chamber to be a key player in the local business and advocacy community.
The Impact Award was initially meant to be awarded to Dave at the 117th Annual Dinner on January 21, 2023. That date marked exactly fifty years since Dave submitted his application to the Board of Directors to be the Executive Director of the SLO Chamber of Commerce in 1973.
While Dave was unable to attend the event in 2023, he was surprised with the recognition at the 2024 Annual Dinner and joined Jim Dantona onstage to accept the honor. The SLO Chamber of Commerce is honored to recognize Dave for the incredible work and years of commitment he put into the organization.
