SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces is excited to announce the fourth and final round of the 2023 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Awardees. These awards are for public, private and nonprofit employers of any size or industry on the Central Coast and seek to recognize and support organizations that adopt and implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees.

“We are thrilled to honor these organizations who are going above and beyond to support their employees,” said Christina Lefevre Latner, with the SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program. “Employers are really understanding the value of offering this type of family-friendly benefits to their employees and with it seeing an ease in recruitment, a reduction in turnover, and an overall increase in morale,” said Lefevre Latner. With that it’s no wonder the program has seen a 224% increase in award attainment since 2022. So far, almost 200 businesses throughout SLO County have taken the SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Assessment, and more than 100 awards have been provided.

Last month also marks the opening of the new 2024 Family-Friendly Workplaces Assessment, and the first opportunity to apply for a new 2024 Award.  We would like to urge every business, non-profit and government entity to take the 2024 assessment and apply for this important award. The assessment helps ensure businesses are following both old and new laws, can open eyes to new options, and can even assist with recruitment efforts.
