On January 25, Elevate Christian Church and the non-profit Generosity Feeds unified with 230 people from San Luis Obispo County at Laguna Middle School for a great purpose. Together they packaged 10,000 meals to provide for the 20,000 kids in our county who struggle with hunger each day, and they did it in just over an hour!
These meals have been distributed to the Lucia Mar and San Luis Coastal Unified school districts, so they can be given to the kids who struggle with hunger outside of school hours.
The following local businesses contributed to make sure the event took place and the meals were purchased: Edward Jones, Morris & Garritano Insurance Services, Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Vridia Advanced Skin Care, Ptera Wellness, Coastal Peaks Roasters, California Fresh Market, and Kona Ice.
“Elevate spear headed this event because we believe in unifying all the people of SLO County, so together we can make a greater impact on our community. And that’s exactly what happened,” said Kurt Pflegl, Elevate’s lead pastor.
Elevate Church community will launch their weekend worship service on February 22, at 10:30 a.m., at Laguna Middle School, 11050 Los Osos Valley Road in SLO.
