The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation is pleased to announce it has reached its fundraising goal of $6.4 million for the “French – Well into the Future” capital campaign. The French – Well into the Future campaign is part of a more than $26 million modernization and expansion project at FHMC.
The “French – Well into the Future” campaign is playing a crucial role in helping fund the project that is increasing patient capacity at FHMC, as well as providing needed upgrades and new leading-edge technology to the now more than 40-year-old facility. This fundraising goal was reached because of the generous support of the community, including individuals and organizations, who donated to this important cause.
“This modernization and expansion project is transforming French Hospital, and ensuring that we are able to provide the most advanced technology and superior facilities to the community,” says Alan Iftiniuk, FHMC President/CEO. “We are so grateful for the continuing generous support of the community which allowed us to reach our fundraising goal for the “French – Well into the Future” campaign. Without these contributions, our hospital improvement project would not be possible.”
These improvements will allow FHMC to continue providing cutting-edge medical care for its patients close to home, while attracting the best physicians and staff. The project includes:
• George Hoag Family Advanced Hybrid Surgical Suite
• ICU expansion and remodel
• New outpatient surgical suite
• New specialty patient care wing with orthopedic beds
• A remodel and expansion of the Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center
The project is well underway, with three projects already completed – the hybrid suite, the ICU expansion and remodel, and the outpatient surgical suite. The specialty patient care wing is scheduled to open this fall, and the Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center is set to open in spring 2016.
The FHMC Foundation is now focused on raising funds for the ongoing construction of the Copeland Health Education Pavilion, which will provide community access to comprehensive health care education resources free of charge. The pavilion will provide the most advanced learning tools, simulation labs, expanded conference space, and research facilities in partnership with Cal Poly which will be available to health care professionals as well as the entire community.
