Heather Hellman, Co-Founder and Event Director for Get Off The Couch Potato Sports Productions, LLC has sold her interest in the business to partner Samantha Pruitt and will resume branding/marketing/events work through her established company Highway 101 Communications. Hellman served as the Event/Sponsorship Director for the San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half, Central Coast Cancer Challenge and Giro Della Costa Centrale.
“It is with great pride that I leave Couch Potato Sports in having created three world-class events and four recognizable brands,” says Hellman. “More importantly, these events have been a springboard for people to achieve their fitness/life goals, created a $10 Million+ economic impact to the local community, raised nearly $2 Million for local and national charities and supported the formation of the Grizzly Youth Academy Run Club.”
Hellman directed the creation of the company brands, including the recent re-brands of the San Luis Obispo Marathon and Central Coast Cancer Challenge and the overall new company brand RaceSLO.com. She also created the company tagline, Small Town, BIG RACE. Hellman guided the sponsorship sales and fulfillment of each event, as well as all marketing strategy and execution.
“I have always said, ‘it takes a community to produce a large-scale event.’ I want to thank our entire staff, volunteers, the City and County of San Luis Obispo, police, sponsors, neighbors and beneficiaries for their support and for making the past seven years a complete joy. I am confident that Samantha will take the company to new heights and I wish her well.”
Hellman can be reached at [email protected] or LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/hwy101. She will be blogging at www.LetsGoSLO.com and plans to run some half marathons and a marathon in the future.
