On Saturday, September 26th from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Guide Dogs for the Blind will throw a Happy Puppy Party during GH Sports’ 3rd Annual Blowout Sale event. The Central Coast Guide Dogs Chapter will bring their happy puppies (currently in training to be Guide Dogs) out and about for the public to play with, learn from and party with.

Guide Dogs for The Blind and GH Sports are teaming up with a shared focus to help others live active, healthy and happy lifestyles. Happy indeed – fitness activities and puppy interactions are both known to boost our endorphin levels! The event, which will boast store-wide discounts from 20-80 percent off, will be held at GH Sports, 3765 S. Higuera Street, Suite 100 in San Luis Obispo.

“Puppies, just like fitness activities, encourage us to be in the moment,” said Garrett Long, general manager GH Sports. “This year’s event is going to be all about having fun – with Guide Dogs for The Blind puppies and sales on every single item in our store, and several other health-related groups who will have booths.”

Central Coast Guide Dog Puppy Raisers are volunteering their time to bring their puppies to the party. Puppy Raisers receive their puppies at approximately eight weeks old, and he/she return to the Guide Dogs Headquarters for formal training between 13 and 15 months old. Puppy raisers are responsible for teaching their puppies good manners and basic obedience.

If you will be in the SLO area Saturday, September 26 between 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., stop by GH Sports to support the puppies in changing lives by learning about the good work they do or becoming a puppy trainer, puppy sitter, or friend.
