On September 10, 2015, The Community Foundation San Luis Katy_sullivan_bio_imageObispo County’s Women’s Legacy Fund will hold its 13th annual luncheon with the largest grant giveaway total to date. The fund addresses issues of local women and girls and has distributed almost $200,000 in local grants since 2004. This year’s annual grant program focuses on mental health. A total of $31,820 will be given to the following local organizations:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLO County – $5,000

• Community Counseling Center – $5,000

• Latina Empowerment Program – $6,820

• RISE – $5,000

• Women’s Shelter Program of SLO County – $10,000

The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Katy Sullivan, an actress and athlete who is also an above-the-knee amputee. Despite being born without the lower halves of her legs, she has pursued a successful acting and producing career as well as becoming a three-time Paralympic champion and American record holder in the 100m.
