ecklesJeff Eckles, the Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of the Central Coast (HBACC), has become the newest member of the San Luis Obispo County Housing Trust Fund’s Board of Directors.

“A place you can call home is the foundation of the American dream,” explains Jeff.  “I am honored to be serving on the board of the Housing Trust Fund to help make that dream a reality for more people in our community.”

Jeff was a registered investment advisor for 25 years prior to taking the reins of the HBACC.  After working for large corporations, Jeff ran his own firm for ten years.  He has a keen understanding of financial matters and economic development.

“We are delighted that Jeff Eckles has joined our board,” exclaimed Lenny Grant, HTF Board Chair.  “His experience in finance and connections with the building industry will be invaluable to our organization.”

As Executive Director for the HBACC, Jeff represents over 100 builders and associates in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.  He has served or is serving on EVC’s Building, Design & Construction Cluster, SLO County Workforce Housing Coalition, SLO Chamber of Commerce, Morro Bay Harbor Advisory (Board Chairman), Morro Bay Community Foundation (President), and the Morro Bay Local Economic Action Plan.

Jeff lives in Morro Bay with his 11 year old twin children and can often be found sailing the bay, playing guitar or coaching his son’s sports team.  He considers his most meaningful accomplishment being a present and caring father to his children.

The mission of the HTF is to increase the supply of affordable housing in San Luis Obispo County.  It provides financing and technical assistance to help create and preserve homes that working families, seniors on fixed incomes and persons with disabilities can afford to rent and buy.  The HTF has provided over $16 million in financing to assist 572 affordable rental and for-sale homes throughout the county.  Funds are currently available to finance additional affordable housing.  Additional information is available online at www.slochtf.org.
