Each month our Ambassadors, meet, greet, call, smile, assist, introduce, cut ribbons, tell jokes, talk to new members, listen, help, learn, welcome, laugh, share and generally serve as the front line of the SLO Chamber. And in doing so they help to create an inclusive community of Chamber members who share in each other’s successes and growth.

Below is the second (see the first here) of a reoccurring feature introducing the Ambassadors to our members.

How long have you been an Ambassador? 2.5 years

What is your favorite thing about being an Ambassador? Meeting and learning about businesses throughout our county. From brand new members, to those celebrating 50+ years as a SLO Chamber member – I learn something new about their organization and ways I can better support their growth.

What is the number one reason you think people should join the Chamber? There is a local comradery amongst the Chamber members. Everyone supports one another, so by joining the Chamber you too become part of that growth and our SLO community. Oh yeah, and so Jill can eat at your restaurant.

What is your advice for someone who is attending a Chamber event for the first time? Find me! I’d be happy to show you around, introduce you to other SLO Chamber members and Ambassadors.

How long have you been an Ambassador? 2 years

What is your favorite thing about being an Ambassador? Celebrating grand openings with new business owners at Ribbon Cuttings. It’s always great to see their passion and listen to their story on why they opened the business that they did. Oh, and of course hanging out with Jill LeMieux at events is an added bonus.

What is the number one reason you think people should join the Chamber? Besides being a great networking group and way of really getting to know the SLO business community, the Chamber staff and board members are awesome folks.

What is your advice for someone who is attending a Chamber event for the first time? Don’t hesitate to find an Ambassador and have us introduce you to folks in the business community. That’s what we are at events for. Tell us the type of people you want to network with and we will make it happen.

The Chamber provides opportunities to bring local businesses together and cultivate positive professional relationships. It aligns people with an organization whose best interest is the community and creating positive change within it.
