A total of nine student-athletes on the Cal Poly track & field and cross country team received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced.

On the men’s side, Davis Bove, Aidan Dimick, Corban Payne, Joey Souto and Lewis Westwood all garnered recognition. For the Cal Poly women, Shelby Daniele, Lexi Evans, Anna Grexton and Lariel Henley each earned a spot on the All-District Team.

The CSC Academic All-District men’s and women’s track & field/cross country teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their performance and dedication in athletics and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, rank top 50 individually in at least one event in their respective region (cross country, indoor or outdoor track & field) and meet several other requirements. Each track & field and cross country program is only allowed to nominate up to five student-athletes per gender for recognition.

Six of the nine student-athletes named to the Academic All-District Team for the Mustangs captured All-Big West honors at the Big West Track and Field Championships, with Bove and Evans each securing an individual conference title.
