Downtown SLO is proud to share that San Luis Obispo has been chosen as the location for the 2025 California Main Street Conference. The conference will take place October 15–17, 2025, at venues across downtown San Luis Obispo, showcasing the city’s walkability, public art, events and vibrant shops and restaurants.

The conference sessions and panels will cover themes such as commercial district revitalization, housing and promotional strategies, with an emphasis on Downtown SLO’s partnerships with the City of SLO, Cal Poly and other local organizations. Statewide and national experts will share best practices, tourism and economic development strategies and legislative updates.

Venues include Hotel Cerro (the official hotel partner), the Palm Theatre, the Penny, the SLO Museum of Art and more. The first evening will kick off with a Welcome Mixer & Networking Event in Mission Plaza, co-hosted with the SLO Chamber of Commerce in tandem with their monthly Membership Mixers.

California Main Street (CAMS) is the state coordinating program of Main Street America, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Since its inception in 1986, CAMS has worked with 60+ communities across the state to revitalize downtowns and commercial districts through place-based economic development. CAMS communities have collectively secured over $8.5 billion in public and private reinvestment.
