The City of San Luis Obispo is excited to announce the annual Arbor Day Celebration, marking San Luis Obispo’s 40th year as a Tree City USA! This year’s event will be held at French Park on November 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
To help celebrate Arbor Day, the City is hosting an online art contest focusing on the value of trees in our environment, how they benefit our lives and the many creative ways they can be captured in art for everyone to enjoy. The art contest will be split up in the following age groups:
- 1st grade – 3rd grade
- 4th grade – 7th grade
- 8th grade – 12th grade
- Adult group (age 18 and over)
This year’s theme is Trees Plant a Cooler Future! The first 150 submissions from each group will be entered into the judging. The judges will select the top 5 entries within each age group, and those artists will win an Arbor Day t-shirt and prize.
Artwork can be submitted via an online form. Submissions must be received no later than October 20, 2023. Artwork will be digitally displayed at the Arbor Day Celebration.
The Arbor Day Celebration will also include a series of guest speakers, vendor booths, and a tree planting event in the park for the whole family.

Entra en el Concurso de Arte del Día del Árbol
¡Llamando a todos los artistas! La fecha límite para el concurso de arte Arbor Day Celebration de San Luis Obispo es el 20 de octubre. La Ciudad celebrará el Día del Árbol el 4 de noviembre, de 10 a.m. a 12 p.m. en French Park.
¡La Ciudad de San Luis Obispo se complace en anunciar la Celebración anual del Día del Árbol, marcando el año 40 de San Luis Obispo como Ciudad del árbol EE.UU.! El evento de este año se llevará a cabo en el Parque French el 4 de noviembre de 2023, de 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Para ayudar a celebrar el Día del Árbol, la Ciudad está organizando un concurso de arte en línea centrado en el valor de los árboles en nuestro entorno, cómo benefician nuestras vidas y las muchas formas creativas en que pueden ser capturadas en el arte para que todos las disfruten. El concurso de arte se dividirá en los siguientes grupos de edad:
- 1er grado – 3er grado
- 4to grado – 7o grado
- 8o grado – 12o grado
- Grupo adulto (de 18 años o más)
¡El tema de este año es Los árboles plantan un futuro más fresco! Las primeras 150 presentaciones de cada grupo se ingresarán en el juicio. Los jueces seleccionarán las 5 mejores entradas dentro de cada grupo de edad, y esos artistas ganarán una camiseta y un premio de Arbor Day.
Las obras de arte se pueden enviar a través de un formulario en línea. Las presentaciones deben recibirse por el 20 de octubre de 2023. Obras de arte se mostrarán digitalmente en la Celebración del Día del Árbol.
La Celebración del Día del Árbol también incluirá una serie de oradores invitados, puestos de vendedores y un evento de plantación de árboles en el parque para toda la familia.
