The History Center of San Luis Obispo County is thrilled to announce its latex exhibit Working Hands dedicated to honoring the diverse ethnic labor groups that have shaped our community’s history.

What: Working Hands Exhibit
Location: The History Center Museum, 696 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA
Website: historycenterslo.org/

“I’m of the philosophy that great men don’t make history” said Pete Kelley, Chair of the Exhibits Committee of the History Center of San Luis Obispo County. “It wasn’t John Harford or William Randolph Hearst who made this county. It was the people that worked it with their hands.”

The exhibit looks at African Americans, Californios, and immigrants from Portugal, China, Japan,
the Philippines and Ticino Canton, Switzerland.

Working Hands will be on display at the History Center Museum at 696 Monterey Street in San Luis Obispo for at least six months. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. six days a week, closed on Tuesdays. Admission is free, donations are welcome.
