The Celebrate Community Festival and Walk for Survivors, hosted by Lumina Alliance, is a family-friendly event that invites participation from the community, corporate sponsors and local athletes and non-athletes alike. The event begins with a walk through downtown downtown SLO. The festival will include a children’s costume contest, music, raffle with unique experiences and prizes, a Zoo to You animal demonstration, face painting, a resource fair and a makers’ market. The event also features a Walk for Survivors in Downtown SLO, as well as a “Survivor Wall”.
In addition to an anticipated 150 participants in the Walk for Survivors, there will be a number of speakers and local leaders available for interviews including Lumina Alliance CEO Jennifer Adams, Mayor Erica Stewart, and Tanya Winje, a survivor who will give a testimonial at the event about her experiences.
The event takes place tomorrow at Mission Plaza, Saturday, October 28, from 11.a.m.- 3 p.m. The Walk for Survivors begins at 12:30 p.m.
