The SLO Greek Festival generously donated a portion of its proceeds to two local charities again this year. The SLO Food Bank and SLO Noor Foundation were selected as the 2023 recipients. “Since Greek hospitality includes caring for, and feeding people it seemed only natural to give to these two outstanding local non-profit organizations”, Jean Costopoulos Weeks stated. Thanks to the efforts of the 2023 Greek Festival sponsors, volunteers and attendees, both organizations received a check in the amount of $5,000.
The 14th Annual San Luis Obispo Greek Festival was held on Saturday, June 3th and Sunday, June 4th, 2023, and is sponsored by St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church in SLO and is its largest community outreach of the year. It was held at the beautiful Madonna Expo Center.
“It was a huge success!”, said Marios Pouyioukkas, Festival Chair. Attendees included not only people from San Luis Obispo County, but also from as far away as New York, Greece, Germany and Australia. Approximately 2,000 people attended each day.
