The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating the 40th year of the annual SLO Triathlon in 2019.

The Parks and Recreation Department needs community volunteers for the day of the event. Every year, more than 200 people are needed to create a successful event for the participants.

Volunteers are stationed along the course to provide a variety of services during the event. Volunteers may be asked to count laps at the pool, monitor barricades for vehicle traffic, direct participant traffic on race course and cheer on the participants.

The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers on Sunday, July 28 (6:30 am – 3pm*) at the SLO Swim Center and Sinsheimer Park at 900 Southwood Drive. Morning & Afternoon Volunteer Shifts available* times will vary.

Registration for the SLO Triathlon is closed. For those interested in volunteering, please visit, slocity.org to learn more and sign up.
