Mission Community Services Corporation’s Women Business Center recently added to their team of professionals with the hire of Charlene Rosales as their new Deputy Director/COVID Manager. In addition to directing the Women’s Business Centers’ COVID response, recovery and disaster preparedness effort, Rosales will be managing the San Luis Obispo headquarters. Mission Community Services (MCSC) currently also has a Women’s Business Center in Kern County and is expanding into Monterey County. The Centers offer workshops, training courses and no-cost business consulting to assist women, minorities, veterans and low to moderate income individuals in starting and profitably growing their business.

“Charlene brings a wealth of experience in the business, nonprofit, government and higher education sectors to our team,” said Women’s Business Center Executive Director, Chuck Jehle. “She’ll be refining and expanding our marketing efforts, broadening our customer outreach, and helping manage our grants and grant administration. Charlene will work closely with our amazing internal team and our outstanding consultants and instructors to make sure SLO County entrepreneurs have the knowledge and skills to successfully launch their businesses.”

Rosales’ previous experience includes Economic Development Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo, Director of Governmental Affairs for the SLO Chamber of Commerce and Chief Operating Officer for United Way of SLO County.

Rosales is deeply involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of SLO Daybreak, SESLOC Federal Credit Union and Woods Humane Society. She is a member of the Community Benefits Committee for Dignity Health and was recently selected to serve on the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel.

“The Board of Directors of MCSC are thrilled with the addition of Charlene to the Women’s Business Center,” said Anita Robinson, local community banking executive and President & Chairperson for Mission Community Services. “Her background and community involvement are the perfect complement to our dynamic team. Having known Charlene for the past 20 years is an added bonus. Exciting!”
