Savvy Leadership Academy, LLC, a local startup offering leadership training for children, announced their first chapter is open for business. The company has created aged-based programming tailored for children as early as kindergarten through high school graduation. Sessions are built around leadership concepts and infused with manners, etiquette and even some basic dance skills. Enrollment includes multiple sessions held once per month at the Avila Bay Athletic Club. Parents can expect their children to build confidence, self-awareness and improve their social skills in a fun, engaging, peer-mentor environment. The necessity for such a program stems from advances in technology and the side effects of growing up in the ‘iGeneration’.
Of the company’s recent launch, Founder and CEO Maggie von Stein said, “Considering how much technology has changed the way we communicate, we need a solution to ensure our children aren’t missing out on vital life and social skills.” Maggie, a mother herself, says that she is a mom on a mission. “Firm handshakes, good eye contact and small talk has given way to Facebook ‘likes’, clever tweets and emojis. Growing up with technology is not without its side effects,” von Stein added. Savvy Leadership Academy hopes to embrace these advances in technology and open multiple chapters with the mission of empowering today’s youth with the tools that they need to become tomorrow’s leaders.
To celebrate the company’s launch a ribbon cutting ceremony is being held at the Avila Bay Athletic Club on September 1st, 2017 at 5:30pm.
