City of San Luis Obispo community members are no longer advised to shelter in place because yesterday’s flash flood warnings were lifted. Additionally, San Luis Obispo businesses no longer need flood gates to be deployed but should still have them available and ready if the situation changes. While there is a lull in rainfall this morning, a flood watch and wind advisory are still in effect until today at 11 a.m. and 10 a.m., respectively.
City officials still encourage community members to be aware of your surroundings, do not drive on flooded roads and prepare for possible thunderstorms and related public safety advisories, warnings or orders. Please be watchful of roadway warning signage as some roads remain closed due to high water.
SLO Transit has limited service due to storm debris and road closures. Routes 1a, 3a, 4a are operating, avoiding all flood points.
All public counters at City facilities – including City Hall, Utilities Department, SLOPD, CDD, etc. – are closed today as many City staff are assisting with storm response work.
Anyone who needs to evacuate their home is encouraged to go to the Red Cross Evacuation Shelter at the Church of Nazarene on 3396 Johnson Ave.
