The San Luis Obispo Little Theatre is proud to present a special performance of Don Marquis’s Archy & Mehitabel, featuring Gale McNeeley on Sunday, Nov. 6 and Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
Archy is a poet trapped in the body of a cockroach and Mehitabel is a liberated woman in the body of an old alley cat. She claims that in a former incarnation she was Cleopatra. Born in the daily newspaper column of Don Marquis, a beloved writer and wit of his day, Archy and Mehitabel entertained and educated readers from 1916 to 1936 in newspapers and magazines read widely in the early 20th century.
