Spokes’2021 Symposium, “How to Survive and Thrive in Times of Crisis,” began April 13, and participants will have an opportunity to join others for a follow-up discussion on the Thursday following each Symposium session. This will be chance to exchange ideas, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the ideas presented at the Symposium.

The discussion sections will be moderated by Spokes’interim CEO, Michael Simkins. Michael has been a member of several nonprofit boards and served as board secretary, treasurer, and president. His professional experience spans the education and nonprofit sectors from being a school principal in Los Osos and Cal Poly lecturer to CEO of a major Silicon Valley nonprofit. Currently, he is board president at San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre.

Spokes Symposium 2021 brings together experts in the field and regional nonprofit leaders to discuss taking stock, pivoting, and building collaborations to survive and thrive during times of great change.

The virtual event will take place from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on three consecutive Thursdays, April 13, 20, and 27.
