NinaMellerPhotoThe Women’s Shelter Program of San Luis Obispo County (WSP) is pleased to announce Nina Meller, Esq., has joined the agency as managing attorney for its legal department. She will be handling various types of civil cases for survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and / or sexual assault, including divorce, custody and child support, in addition to restraining orders.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nina to the team at the Women’s Shelter Program, where she will provide critical legal assistance to our clients and their families to help them stay physically safe and emotionally healthy. In many cases, these legal services can save lives,” said Kirsten Rambo, executive director for Women’s Shelter Program.

Meller was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia. She later moved to the Bay Area in her youth. She attended the University of California, Santa Cruz and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in legal studies. Meller then studied law at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, where she received her Juris Doctorate degree. Meller has a strong background with both nonprofits and family law, and worked previously at Bay Area Legal Aid and California Rural Legal Assistance.
