Woods Humane Society hosted a Community Cat Spay Day for the public on August 15th at the shelter’s Daphne Fahsing Spay & Neuter Clinic in Atascadero. The shelter’s low cost spay & neuter day provided surgeries for 94 north county community felines along with vaccinations and general veterinary treatments.
A community cat is one who is not owned and typically lives in a colony with other “stray” cats. Altered community cats are identified by removing a small portion of one of their ears in a process called “ear tipping”.
Woods Humane Society’s low cost spay & neuter clinics are located in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero, and they are open to the public by appointment. Visit spayslocounty.org for details, pricing, and to book your pet’s appointment online.
