Woods Humane Society is celebrating 65 years serving San Luis Obispo County’s companion animals with an online auction and fundraising campaign May 18th – 23rd. The unique circumstances of the covid-19 pandemic has put extreme stress on the shelter’s programs while dramatically impacting the shelter’s fundraising ability. With many of the shelter’s spring fundraisers cancelled…Woods Humane Society is looking to offset some of our lost revenue with the addition of the first Virtual Auction and Fund the Need Campaign.
The shelter’s fund the need campaign is generously sponsored by our friends at Saint Francis Capital Wealth Management who are matching every dollar raised up to $10,000! Supporters can contribute directly to the needs of the homeless animals like nutritional food for one or all of our shelter pets, bottles and supplies for baby kittens, spay & neuter surgeries and other medical needs, vaccinations, and more. Additionally, Woods Humane Society is honored to feature the Hallmark Channel’s Larissa Wohl as our virtual host and auctioneer for unique live auction packages like becoming a Vet for A Day at the shelter, skippering an America’s Cup Yacht on the beautiful San Francisco Bay, taking a trip to cheer on your favorite canine breed at the 2021 Westminster Dog Show in NYC, experiencing true southwest adventure in gorgeous Arizona, and more. Participants can visit http://www.woodshumane.org/anniversary to register and participate in the shelter’s online auctions taking place throughout the week.
Woods Humane Society’s CEO, Neil Trent, states – “As we continue to navigate these challenging times, one thing that remains unchanged is how incredibly grateful we are for our donors. We hope you know just how much we appreciate all you have done and in these uncertain times we need your support more than ever. Our online celebration is something we’d love you to be a part of. We thank you for your commitment to the cats and dogs who call Woods Humane Society their temporary home. We could not do this without you.”
