Grammy Award-winner Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band will be featured at the eighth Annual Benefit for the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus. Sanchez is a Mexican American conguero, Latin jazz band leader and salsa singer. In 2000, he and his ensemble won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album for their work on the Concord Picante album “Latin Soul.”

CPACThe benefit event will kick off on Sunday, September 16 at 1:30 p.m. with a salsa dance lesson for the first 50 guests, Cuban food provided by Cubanissimo Food Truck, and homemade tres leches cake. Complimentary Tablas Creek wine and Firestone Walker beer will be available. The event also includes raffles, with prizes like a San Luis Obispo County sightseeing plane ride, a Morro Bay hospitality package, Zip & Sip Margarita Adventure, a Mystery Box and more.

The Annual Harold J. Miossi CPAC Benefit is organized by the CPAC Council, a group of community leaders and Cuesta College staff working to further the mission of the college’s cultural and performing arts program. The Harold Miossi CPAC houses teaching facilities for student musicians, singers and actors, and provides a unique venue for community activities. The facility includes a 450-seat main stage theater and 150-seat experimental theater.

The 8th Annual Harold J. Miossi CPAC Benefit is on Sunday, September 16, held at the Harold J. Miossi Cultural & Performing Arts Center, SLO Campus.

Pre-Show Festivities begin at 1:30 p.m. with Salsa dancing, raffles, refreshments, wine and beer.

Audience seating is available at 2:30 p.m. The performance begins at 3:00 p.m.
