Pappy McGregor’s Pub & Grill at 1865 Monterey St. has closed up shop temporarily with plans to reopen when construction of The Monterey, a 102-room hotel, is finished. The fence is up at the location and demolition and excavation on the old single-story structure at 1845 Monterey St. is underway. According to insiders the closing of the restaurant was a joint agreement between the developers and the restaurant owners.
Down the street and a couple blocks to the south, 1119 Chorro St. to be exact, Black Sheep Bar & Grill and FedEX Office Print & Ship Center will soon have a new neighbor. Lisa Leonard Designs, local jewelry maker with an international online following, is in the process of unpacking boxes at the old Brick House Goods location and setting up a retail shop, which they hope to open in a few months.
A few more miles to the south at 1273 Laurel Lane, early reports are that Tacos De Acapulco is making its way through the process to expand into the space next door.
Finally, on to Railroad Square where Bon Temps Creole Café will be opening up a location to fill the spot vacated by Lotus Asia’s Best.
