Pacifica Hotels, the largest owner and operator of independent hotels on the Pacific Coast, announced the promotion of Adam Marquis to company President following a strong close to 2018.
As President, Marquis will continue to be responsible for investment, operations and development projects at Pacifica Hotels. Marquis has played an integral role in transforming the Pacifica collection of hotels into one of the most original lifestyle and experiential portfolios on the West Coast.
“Pacifica is projected to break out over the next 10 years. The strength of our portfolio is accredited to the leadership of our management team and dedication of employees at each property,” said President Adam Marquis. “Our reputation will allow us the opportunity to expand across the country.”
Marquis’ previous positions at Pacifica Hotels included Vice President and Executive Vice President. For nearly a decade, Marquis has led asset management, feasibility, brand relations, acquisitions, dispositions and strategic repositioning efforts.
“Adam joined Pacifica Hotels at a critical time coming out of the recession in 2010. He developed a successful strategy that has been fundamental in positioning us as a top hospitality company coming into 2019,” said CEO Matt Marquis.
Pacifica Hotels saw substantial growth in 2018 with total revenue reaching $220 million, and a total of 41 hotels owned, managed, or under development. Numerous strategic acquisitions, renovations and flag changes continue to strengthen the portfolio, including strategic national growth of two new design forward, experiential boutique brands, The Kinney and The Wayfarer, each introducing a second location by end of 2019. Pacifica Hotels has proven to be a key player in West Coast hospitality with a growing and evolving collection and continued reinvestment in the hospitality market.
Formerly, Marquis held a senior consultant position at PKF Consulting. Prior to his tenure at PKF Consulting, Marquis served as the rooms division manager for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts after successfully completing the company’s Corporate Management Program at the Grand Hyatt. There, he received key departmental training in finance, sales and marketing, yield management, and food and beverage. Marquis began his career training as a hospitality host with Walt Disney World Resorts. He holds a degree in Hotel Management from Utah Valley University.
